Acharya Aadisagarji Maharaj's legacy lives on through the revived traditions of Digambara asceticism in Maharashtra and Karnataka. He is remembered as a pioneer who re-established the rigorous path of the naked monks in the 20th century.

He was a prominent Digambara Jain Acharya of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Born in Ankali, he is often referred to as "Ankalikar" to distinguish him from other saints with similar names. He played a crucial role in reviving the Digambara monastic tradition.

He took his Muni Diksha (initiation) at Kunthalgiri Siddhakshetra. His spiritual inspiration and guidance came from the reverence of Bhagwan Kulbhushan and Deshbhushan (Kevali omniscients associated with Kunthalgiri).

His Samadhi Sthal (place of passing) is located at Udgaon (Kunjvan). It is a place of pilgrimage for his devotees.
