Established in V.S. 1237 (approx. 1180 AD), Aharji is a significant Atishay Kshetra located in the Tikamgarh district of Madhya Pradesh.
The entire area is dotted with ancient temples and ruins, but the crowning jewel is the main temple housing the gigantic statue. The environment is serene, situated near the beautiful Madan Sagar Sarovar, offering a perfect setting for meditation and darshan.

The primary attraction is the magnificent 21 Feet high (monolithic) statue of Lord Shantinath in the Khadgasana (standing) posture. The idol is renowned for its miraculous aura and ancient artistry, dating back to the 12th century.
Apart from the main idol, the complex houses different statues of 20 other Tirthankaras. These ancient idols provide a glimpse into the rich history of Jain art and sculpture prevalent in the Bundelkhand region.
