About this panchang

Sud and Vad. Each Vikram Samvat month has two fortnights (paksha) — Sud (शुक्ल पक्ष, the bright/waxing half, tithi 1–15) and Vad (वद/कृष्ण पक्ष, the dark/waning half, tithi 1–14 then the amavasya). Each tithi is paired with the weekday (vaar) it fell on, exactly as printed.

Tithi kshay & vriddhi. Because a tithi is a measure of the moon’s position rather than a fixed 24 hours, some tithis are skipped (kshay) and some span two consecutive solar days (vriddhi) in any given month — both are noted exactly as the panchang prints them, never inferred.

How this differs from Today’s Panchang. That page tracks a handful of major parva dates and computes sunrise/sunset/pachkhan times for any city. This section is the fuller picture behind it — the complete day-by-day tithi grid for a Shwetambar panchang, with kalyanaks, punyatithis and the auspicious/inauspicious periods (Pushya Nakshatra, Panchak, Vinchudo, Rohini) for every day of the month.
