The further from the equator, the bigger the swing. In London or Toronto, Chauvihar can be after 9 pm in June and before 4:30 pm in December. Times here are recalculated every day for your city, so check them rather than relying on a fixed hour.
When clocks change in March and October/November, Navkarsi and Chauvihar jump by an hour on the clock overnight. The sun has not moved — only the clock. Each city page already uses its official time zone.
Tithis on this site follow the Indian panchang. Because of the time difference, Jain centres abroad often fix Paryushan, Samvatsari and other parvas for their own city — follow your local sangh’s calendar for vows.

Only on the clock. The sun rises and sets as before, but when clocks go forward one hour, Navkarsi and Chauvihar happen one hour later by the clock; when clocks go back, one hour earlier. These pages use each city’s official time zone, so the change is already included.
Tithi and parva dates on this site follow the Indian panchang. Because of the time difference, the tithi in effect at sunrise in the Americas can differ from India, so most Jain centres abroad announce their own dates for Paryushan, Samvatsari and other parvas. Follow your local sangh for a vow; daily pachkhan times here are always for your own city.
The rule stays the same — no food or water from sunset to sunrise — so on long summer days the last meal can be later, and on short winter days it must be very early. Many families plan the main meal at midday in winter. If a pachkhan is hard to keep with work or school, ask your guru or sangh which pachkhan suits you.
