Review highlights

  • IMPORTANT NAMING NOTE: a distinct, unrelated Shwetambar Tirth from row 7's Digambar Mahuva (Surat) temple, despite the shared town name. This 'Jivit Mahavir Swami' idol is traditionally said to have been sculpted by Mahavira's own elder brother Nandivardhan during Mahavira's lifetime - a rare 'living image' (Jivit Swami) tradition shared with the similarly-named Nandia Tirth in Rajasthan (not yet logged in this workbook). The complex includes 4 floors of shrines and an adjoining former residence of Acharya Nemisuri Maharaj, now incorporated into the temple.
