Vikram Samvat 2083 (written 2083-2084 because the year runs 10 November 2026 – 29 October 2027) in the Jain Digambar Panchang begins at Kartik Sud 1, the Gujarati new year, the day after Diwali. It contains 12 months and 126 major kalyanaks and parvas, including Dashlakshan Mahaparva and Diwali / Mahavir Nirvana.
Why "2083-2084" and not just "2083"? This panchang follows the Gujarati Kartik-Adi reckoning, where the Vikram Samvat year begins at Kartik Sud 1 (the day after Diwali), not at Chaitra Sud 1. Because Kartik falls in the Gregorian month of November, the year runs from late 2026 into the following year — which is why it is written "2083-2084", the same way a fiscal year spanning two calendar years is written.
Digambar tradition. This calendar follows a printed Digambar Jain panchang — kalyanak dates and parvas such as Dashlakshan, Ashtahnika, Solahkaran and Shrut Panchami are the Digambar ones. Where the book gives two traditions for a kalyanak (Uttar Puran / other puran, marked उ.पु. and वृ.पु.), both dates are shown. The Shwetambar panchang for the same year is separate.
What's in it. Every day's tithi (kshay and vriddhi exactly as printed), weekday and nakshatra, the 卐 auspicious days, every kalyanak and parva, Ashtami/Chaudas, Rohini vrat, and Amrutsiddhi yoga and Panchak timings.
Paryushan dates, Micchami Dukkadam reminders and new teachings. A few messages a month at most.
